This policy explains how JCR Cricket researches, writes, reviews and updates its cricket coverage.
Independence
Our match predictions are written by our editorial team. They are not paid for, sponsored, or influenced by teams, players, fantasy platforms or betting operators. Advertising is sold separately and never affects our picks.
Sources and fact-checking
- Fixtures, venues, start times and squads are checked against official sources (governing bodies, tournament organisers and team announcements).
- Statistics state their scope (for example, “IPL meetings since 2008”) so readers can check them.
- Every match prediction must be marked as verified by an editor before it can be published or scheduled.
Use of software and AI tools
We may use software to organise data or draft outlines, but no statistic, quote or factual claim is published without a person checking it against a reliable source. We never publish automatically generated match pages.
Predictions are opinions
A prediction is our reasoned view of the more likely outcome, not a promise. We show the reasoning, a confidence level and, where useful, an estimated probability. Toss predictions are always labelled as estimates.
Updates and corrections
Match pages are updated when material information changes, such as confirmed XIs after the toss, injuries or weather. The time of the latest update and a short note are shown at the top of the page. Factual errors are corrected promptly; significant corrections are noted on the page.
Track record
After each match we record whether our pick was right or wrong. Wrong calls are not removed. See our Prediction Methodology page for the running record.
Authors and review
Every article shows its author and, for predictions, the editor who reviewed it. Author pages describe each writer’s background.
