About the Test Cricket

Test cricket is the longest format of the game, with matches played over up to five days. The first Test was played between Australia and England in Melbourne in 1877. Since 2019, Test series between the leading nations have counted towards the World Test Championship. A side wins by bowling the opponents out twice while scoring more runs; if that cannot be done in the time available, the match is drawn.

This page lists all our Test match predictions, with pitch reports, head-to-head records and analysis for every series we cover.

Tests FAQs

How are these predictions made?

Each pick weighs recent form, head-to-head record, venue and pitch behaviour, expected conditions and team news. The reasoning is shown on every match page and our full method is on the Prediction Methodology page.

Can a Test match end in a draw?

Yes. If neither side wins in the scheduled time the match is drawn, which is why our Test predictions consider the draw as a realistic outcome.
